One of other stops in Omaha was the Wildlife Park – we got to see all kinds of animals and walked through part of the park to see the wolves and bears. The boys took a lot of photos too and they got to see their first buffalo.

In between all of the sickness, we did make it out to visit a couple of things in Omaha. One of the stops was the Strategic Air Command. We toured a huge building filled with some amazing airplanes – the boys had a great time and spent most of it running around the building.

From KC we went up to Omaha, NE to visit Les, Laurie, Brian and Allie & Calan. The boys had a great time seeing everyone, playing with the dogs and meeting the baby. The trip was very eventful – Sam got sick all over Rod and then spent a lot of time in the bathroom. Lis met us in Omaha after her trip to South Dakota, but she had twisted her ankle and was hobbling around. On top of this Rod, broke an antique bed. Hmmm – hope we get invited back. 🙂

The Boys loved visiting the University of Kansas, but they didn’t love all the walking or the rain later on in the day. I can’t wait until they get to college and have to walk to class every day – hope they make it.

Lis made another trip out to South Dakota, so the boys and Rod made a trip out to KC. First stop was Grandma’s House. They loved the yard and all the things to see in Kansas City….

Alex, Sam and Rod all made a trip to Washington DC during the summer of 2009, while Lis was out in South Dakota doing some work for Restoring the Hoop and traveling with Margie. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Alex and Sam got a new tent from Nana today – it’s not a real tent, but a tent that goes on top of their bed. Mom made the mistake of assembling it downstairs and then they had a lot of trouble getting it upstairs -finally disassembling it and re-assembling it after quite a few tears had been shed. After all was said and done we had two very excited boys…..

Sam started playing soccer this year at our local Boys & Girls club. The games are inside a big gym so everyone stays warm – including Mom and Dad. He only has 4 games; this is a beginner league to get him ready for next year. Alex will continue to play in the fall and Sam will play in the spring.
