Trinity had an end of the year Tennis Party this year after playing just 2 matches (last year they didn’t play any).  Alex and Sam both played this year, but Alex got some special recognition as he was the team captain and the only one that had played all 4 years since the team started (Mr Bradford was the coach all 4 years).  For his contribution, Alex received an oversized Tennis ball signed by the team and apparently Donald Trump, as well as 2 cans of new balls.  The party was pizza and cupcakes sponsored by the Payne family.  🙂

Sam finished his science project, ‘You Say Tomato and I say Science Project,’ with little time to spare.  But a few last minute staged photos was all that was needed to finish the project the night before.   The project was to determine which water would produce better tomatoes, Tap Water, Distilled Water or Seltzer water.  The final project received a 95, of course we don’t know why he lost the 5 points.

Spring Recreation Soccer started a couple of weeks ago and Alex is back up to his old tricks.  Unfortunately they have lost their first two games, even with Alex’s friends on the team (Alex and Cole).  We should see a win this week though because the coach (Cole’s Dad) is out of town and Mom and Dad will be coaching.  🙂

  Alex and Sam had their first tennis match of the season.  Alex and Sam both lost their singles match – neither won any of their sets (8-0).  The doubles matches were much better as Sam and Ty ended up losing 8 sets to 5 and Alex and Troy won their doubles match 8 sets to 5.  Alex and Troy had a death match that would just not end – going at least an hour and a half.    At one point, Mom, Sam and Dad all went back to the car to get warm as it was quite breezy.  After sitting in the car for almost 30 minutes, we all thought the match would be almost over.  In reality they had only played 2 sets during that time.  The last set lasted at least 20-25 minutes by itself and all the parents on the sidelines were laughing about missing dinner and how much longer it would go on.  The match had at least 10 match points before Alex and Troy finally ended it to everyone’s relief.

So when is the best time to see the Cherry Blossoms in DC??  Probably not the weekend that everyone else is going – the Saturday before Easter and the only sunny day that weekend.   Lots of people… way too many people but we did get some good photos and we have a good story to tell.

  We made a quick trip to Waynesboro for Easter weekend and we even rescued some chickens that got out across the street from Nana and Gung Gung.  Then on Monday stopped by to see Lillian on the way home.  We had a great time and had a great Easter dinner.

Sam and Mom took a trip out to Pollards Farm yesterday to take some photos.  The farm is owned by one of Sam’s friends at school.
