Well, the big day finally arrived and it didn’t disappoint as everyone had a great time. We started with our now customary Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve (New England Clam Chowder, grilled salmon, boiled shrimp and roasted vegetables). Then, Christmas morning, we had sausage bites, smoked salmon, country ham biscuits and cinnamon rolls. Of course, the mandatory Mimosas (this year with an added dash of Dranbuie) had us all a little giddy by the time packages were opened. For Christmas dinner, we had a beautiful Pot Roast with all the sides and a few leftovers from the day before. Everyone loved their gifts, but we were so busy opening the presents we forgot to take any photos, except for one of Sam… see caption below. We also included a few photos of the Christmas decorations this year. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a very Happy New Year!
We opened up gifts downstairs first, after breakfast. We then took the sweetie rolls and Mimosas upstairs to open the 2nd round.Sam loves opening gifts so much that the last couple of years he has bought gifts for himself to open. This year, with all the money he has made from working he ended up with quite a few to open – he actually forgot he had bought a couple of them. 🙂 Table all set and ready to go…Lis is a big fan of William Morris and she loved the gifts from the UK! One of Sam’s gifts, was a rack to store his video games. Dad built it and Mom and Sam painted it. Sam, of course, didn’t realize it was for him until Xmas morning.
