Last Saturday’s soccer games were the last of the season and at the opening kick for Sam’s game the temperature was a balmy 36 degrees. Sam’s team lost another game, but once again they had Sam playing striker and he got in some good kicks. Unfortunately Sam’s team spent most of the game playing defense so he was he didn’t stay very warm.
Alex’s team was playing for 1st place in their game and it was quite close – so close that it went to a double sudden death penalty kick. Alex’s friend Matt scored the goal to tie the game with just a couple of minutes left in the game. The first set of 5 penalty kicks ended in another tie. Alex had a score on the second set of penalty kicks and then the game ended on the next to last penalty kick when Alex’s goalie scored the final goal. Quite an exciting game to end the season.

Way too big….
Sam decided he still wanted to play on the inflatables at the Fall Festival last week…. we certainly hope this will be his last year as he was almost bouncing down the slide because he was so big!
Science Project – 100%….
Mom scored….. we mean Sam scored a 100% on his Science project. The project was to create a 3D animal cell. He used a styrofoam balls painted and cut in half as his base and then pipe cleaners, tin foil and candy to finish it off. Since he scored 100% Sam had to take his presentation and present it to the sophomore biology class. Matt and Josh (Alex’s friends) were in the class and led the class in clapping for his presentation.

Soccer Saturday part 3….
Alex’s team continued their unbeaten season winning again today 3-1. We had to tell the coach today that Alex and Josh would not be at the soccer games on the last week tournament weekend as they have a basketball tournament the same day. The coach seemed quite concerned as Matt was going to be the only one left since they all play together so well. Alex’s friend Josh, scored his first goal of the season today too!
A British cap invasion!
BRRRR…. a cold soccer Saturday!
First up was Sam’s team at 9am – starting game time temperature was 45 degrees with a slight wind. Sam’s team kept it un-winning record by losing 4-1. The last time they played this team it was a double-digit loss so they are improving. Sam had a bit of a cold, but still wanted to go out and play. He is improving every game and had some good stops and a one stretch where he kicked it and followed it with another kick… sort of a dribble. We only have a few games left this fall and then spring soccer should help him improve some more before he tries out for Trinity next year (hopefully some summer tutoring too).
