What’s a sure sign that Fall has arrived…..
you guessed it – footed pajamas (and they still fit)!

Dad has a heart attack… almost
First games of the Fall Recreation League soccer today and Alex had two games while Sam just had the 1 game. Alex lost the first game 3-1 but won the second by a landslide as Alex had 3 goals and Matt had 2 goals. Not only that, but he played Zac and Jeremy’s team. They were missing a couple of players and had a stand-in goalie which didn’t help their cause any. Zac did school Alex on several plays and then one of the girls schooled Alex as well. Alex’s defense was that she played high school ball at Connely… the rest of the boys weren’t buying that though. Alex also got tackled by one of the bigger girls on the other team. 🙂
Sam played most of the first half as midfielder and played pretty well. He made a couple of stops and made a couple of good passes. Sam did have a couple of ‘air kicks’ but he did hustle most of the half. The reason dad almost had a heart attack was because they played Sam at Keeper (that’s the goalie for all of the non-soccer people) the 2nd half. Sam did let one get by him which proved to be the winning goal but it was a pretty good shot from close range. Luckily he didn’t have any other chances for saves, but he did have a goal kick which he turned into a pretty nice pass. Quote of the day – Dad: “where you scared,” Sam: “Yes,” Dad: “why were you scared,” Sam: “I was afraid the ball might hit me,” ….. after some discussion, Dad: “why else were you afraid?” Sam: “I thought I might get dirty.” 🙂
A cold and rainy Fall evening….
Trinity got back in the winning column with a win over GCA on Tuesday night. It rained most of the game and was quite chilly – probably only in the low 60’s. Mom and Dad were quite chilly standing on the sidelines. Alex played a good game but didn’t get any shots on goal. It was a close game up until the last few minutes when Matt took a beautiful shot from midfield. The final score was 3-1.
Well that was ugly….
Baby gets new shoes… part deux
Dinosaurs are invading Greenville…
Mom took Sam to this las year and it’s back in town. This time around they have a Wooly Mammoth, but considering Sam is now 12 years old and it’s about $40 for both of them to go we decided to just relive the memories from the first trip. Not to mention that Sam would probably be the biggest kid at the event. 🙂

Lizard on a Hot Tin Roof…..
Sam may have another entry for next year’s spring art contest. He captured this Carolina Anole sunbathing on Mom’s Ford Explorer yesterday.
Tigers Win Again!
The TCS Tigers are now undefeated on the year at 4-0. Today’s game was close up until the last about 5 minutes when we scored 2 goals to finish the game at 5-2. Alex didn’t have any goals in the last game but he did have 2 shots on goal. In today’s game he had another 2 shots on goal (no scores) and one assist on a beautiful cross pass to Cole who scored off the pass. Alex had a couple of other beautiful passes but we just couldn’t quite convert. Alex also received a huge compliment from the coach (who normally doesn’t hand out compliments) about his aggressive and physical play and how he has been keeping them in the games. We are definitely very proud of his accomplishments thus far this season… and we still have a lot more soccer to go!
